Williston, ND (KEYZ) Congratulations Larry Grondahl, the man behind the highly successful Babe Ruth World Series of High School Baseball in Williston, is being honored by the organization in Trenton New Jersey by being appointed Director of Special Events for the Babe Ruth League Alumni Association. Grondahl tells news radio he was offered the position only two weeks ago, and was pleasantly surprised by the honor.
“You know I thought about it for awhile, it’s a comittment but being involved with Babe Ruth nationally is always something that has interested me and obviously with what we have been able to do with some of our Babe Ruth World Series, it gave me the opportunity to accept the position and I’m excited to be a part of it,” says Grondahl.
Using the same savvy and expertise he employed in Williston in putting together a great team of organizers, Grondahl will work closely with the Alumni Board to oversee the planning and execution of Alumni events and activities, such as group reunions, donor recognition events, and other alumni engagement opportunities.
Every humble, Grondahl refuses to take all the credit for how well the World Series turned out in Williston last fall. “No that’s a tribute to our community and what they have been able to do. Our community has stepped up, not only financially but we had between 900 and a thousand volunteers during that World Series, from concessions to work nights at the ball park, to ticket takers to host families, the community just always steps up. I can not say enough about Williston,” says Grondahl.
One of Grondahls first tasks is to fly out to New Jersey in two weeks and lead preparations for the Alumni Golf Tournament. We wish him luck!
