County Road 5, Rural Williston, ND (KEYZ) Williston rural fire fighters contain a huge natural gas fire at the OneOK plant off County road five near the Montana border.
Deputy Fire Chief of the Rural Williston Fire Department, Jeff Clark tells news radio the fire destroyed one building inside the complex before it was contained.
“We got called out here at about quarter to nine this morning, there was a fire at the gas plant and looks like a building burnt up. It’s pretty much out, we’re just waiting for the all clear from the ONEOk guys before we can get on scene. They are monitoring pressures and stuff to make sure nothing is going to blow up,” says Clark.
About 15 Williston Rural firefighters responded to the 9 AM blaze many have been released from the scene while the remaining crews wait for the all clear to go ahead and enter the complex and put out any hot spots.
“We just let it burned out, once they got everyone out of there safely. We’re just waiting to get in there and complete the compression of the fire, but it looks to be completely out now,” says Clark.
No injuries were reported, the cause is under investigation.
