Williston, ND (KEYZ)  A new medical urgent care facility is coming to Williston. Mayor Howard Klug won't disclose the name of the firm, however the city is in negotiations with it for the purchase of the old Herman Oil property at 11th street one block from Dakota Parkway and across the streets from both CHI St. Alexius Health Williston and Trinity Health Clinic. Of course there are financial and land remediation details to finalize.
"But I do not believe there is going to be any problems. We have performed a lot of test wells and sampling over in that area throughout the years, and hopefully that get's a clean bill of health. So we can go on and everybody else can go in there and protect their health," the Mayor tells News Radio.
The Mayor says an urgent care facility is needed since many times people take their non emergency cases to the ER for treatment, and this backs things up for legitimate triage cases that need immediate attention.
"But this center will also be equipped with other capabilities to diagnose and treat patients says Klug. "They can take X-rays, Ultra-sounds, or take a CT scan or something like that. They are also talking about building another one on the north side of town," he says.
Not only would a new urgent care facility be very welcome in Williston, since it would take some of the pressure off of the current emergency room at the hospital across the street and perhaps your wallet since prices at urgent care facilities are usually lower that that at full service hospitals.
