Williston, ND (KEYZ)  Twenty-five-year-old Levi James Soiseth of Williston is being held in the Williams County jail following his arrest on charges of felony child abuse stemming from a horrifying incident that took place in mid October.   Family members of a baby girl aged one-year and ten months reported to police on October 18th they suspected abuse of the infant in relation to multiple bruises to the girls head, back and face, missing hair and Petechiae, a red or purple spot caused by bleeding under the skin, on at least one ear.

After questioning the girls mom, 21-year-old Michelle Robinson, who had initially told a detective that the baby's injuries were caused by falls, finally blamed them on Soiseth, her boy friend.  She alleged that back on October 15th, Soiseth became angry with the infant, and threw her against their parked car, the baby rebounded and struck her head against a pole.   Robertson further admitted that Soiseth would allegedly grab the infant by her cheeks when she would resist eating her food. A medical examination confirmed bruising on the baby's cheeks.

Soiseth is awaiting a judge to set bail as of Monday morning November 5th.
