MDU 4th Quarter Income Pegged at Nearly $79mln

Bismarck, ND (KEYZ)Something to ponder as we scrape together enough cash to pay for exorbitant heating bills during this unusually cold winter.   MDU Resources Group Inc. (MDU) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $78.8 million.  The Bismarck based company revealed a net income of 40 cents per share.   Earnings, adjusted to account for discontinued operations, came to 39 cents per share.

The energy, mining, construction and utilities company posted revenue of $1.21 billion in the period.  For the year, the company reported profit of $272.3 million, or $1.39 per share. Revenue was reported as $4.53 billion.   MDU R esources shares have risen slightly more than 8 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $25.81, a climb of 2.5 percent in the last 12 months.
