WATFORD CITY, N.D. (KEYZ) – A newborn baby dies after a tornado swept through a Watford City RV park early Tuesday. McKenzie County Sheriff Gary Schwartzenberger says the one-week-old boy died from injuries sustained Tuesday morning after the twister tore through the Prairie View RV Park in Watford City. Despite the child being transported by air to a hospital with advanced life support systems, the little boy passed away Tuesday afternoon.
The sheriff says the family’s trailer was flipped in the storm, and at the request of the grieving family the name of the infant has not been released at this time. The National Weather Service classified the tornado as an EF2 with wind speeds reaching 127 mph.
