Williston, ND (KEYZ)  Shiver me Timbers!! It hasn't been this cold in Williston in 120 years! At least that's what they're saying at the National Weather Service where they keep the records. And meteorologist Jeff Shield tells us, there will be more wind chill weather advisories over the weekend, but nothing like this morning's record breaking freeze.
We had a very cold air mass pushed over the area with Williston dipping down to 43-degrees below zero and the previous record was 41 below zero and that was set way back in 1899, so that was a very longstanding record. Pretty darn cold in that area," says Shield.

Shield,  at the National Weather Service in Bismarck, says we're in for more of the same this weekend with wind chill advisories but not as cold as last night.
"It looks like tonight it could dip down to about 12 below. Fifteen below again on Saturday night. Sunday night it looks like around 8 below so each night it's going to be quite cold. Even for high temperatures, on Sunday you might hit zero!," says Shield.
Shield cautions this weather is not only uncomfortable but dangerous with frost bite possible in as little as five minutes. It's imperative that parents constantly monitor the whereabouts of their younger children over the weekend, limiting outside play and making sure they have on hats, gloves and layers before going out.
