Tioga Bartender Charged in Heroin Overdose

Williston, ND (KEYZ)   Twenty-nine-year old Piper Bjornsen, a bartender at a Tioga bar, is charged in connection with the fatal overdose of 43-year-old Daniel Slaven last Friday, who police say purchased heroin from Bjornsen, and overdosed later that very night.   Bjornsen's been charged with several felonies including delivery of a controlled substance, possession of heroin with intent to deliver and possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, and ordered held Wednesday on $20,000 bond.

A companion of Slaven tells police that the victim had exchanged text messages with Bjornsen earlier Friday and arranged a meeting with her at the Skol bar for the buy.
