Williston, ND (KEYZ) Busy day for Williston fire fighters who responded to both a destructive house fire in the city of Williston and an explosion and fire at a rural Williston business Wednesday afternoon.  Bat. Chief Mike Fronimos says about 20 fire fighters including volunteers responded to the house fire in the 800 block of 6th Street west at about noon to find the two-story home completely engulfed with smoke pouring from the windows.

"The call went out as possible residents trapped but by the time fire fighters arrived the residents including a woman and her three children had evacuated clear of the fire and were uninjured," Fronimos tells News Radio.  Meanwhile, one of their two dogs, reportedly died in the fire, which was finally knocked down at about 2 pm with fire fighters clearing the scene at 2:30.  The house is deemed a total loss,

At about the same time an explosion occurred at a shop at 5307 151st Ave NW in rural Williston.  Two employees were injured. Both employees were taken to St. Alexius in Williston. Sheriff’s spokesman Caleb Fry says one would possibly be flown out to a different facility.  At this time, OSHA has been notified and condition of the injured parties is unknown.
