Williston, ND (KEYZ)  Crews worked feverishly in bone chilling -36 degree weather to restore power to more than 27-hundred customers in the east Williston area who experienced an outage this morning during the height of the morning rush.     Mark Hanson with MDU describes the situation.  "At about 7:40 we experienced a double circuit power line down and a broken pole as well.  We have crews out doing some switching so that the feed comes in from a different direction and we get the power back on within the hour for these customers," said Hanson.

Following restoration of service Hanson says "permanent repairs" will be made on the line.  During the outage, some issues and confusion by parents dropping their children off at McVay and Rickard Elementary schools both plunged into darkness by the outage.  The decision was made to cancel classes at both facilities due to the power outage.

The areas mainly effected include a large residential area bordered by 42 Avenue West to the north,  Dakota Parkway East and University along the east,  2nd Avenue West on the west and 4th Street down town.
