Williston, ND (KEYZ)   A domestic dispute between boyfriend and girlfriend turns into assault on a Williston Police officer. It happened last Thursday afternoon when a team of officers were questioning Christopher Hopkins in the 29 hundred block of 26th street west after his girlfriend, crying and visibly upset had called 911 for help.

While the officers were interviewing the woman, Hopkins, who was handcuffed because of an outstanding warrant, began to scream profanities at the woman. Unable to get at her, Hopkins allegedly head-butted the officer closest to him in the face and nose. He was then ushered out of the residence and into custody, while his girlfriend Ashley Herrera, told officers that they had gotten into an argument earlier and Hopkins had allegedly thrown her over the kitchen island, and then tried to strangle her to point where Herrera lost consciousness.

She was transported for medical attention. Hopkins now faces assault on a peace officer and in addition to the aggravated assault against his girl friend.
