Williston, ND (KEYZ) If you’re driving out there today, it’s not going to be all that nice, coupled with a moderate snow fall, meterologist Adam Jones with the NWS tells us wind gusts up to 35 mph in the Willston area will produce white out situations at times. “There will be reduced visibilty anywhere from between a half mile at times to near white out conditions depending on the location and strength of the wind,” says Jones.
Up to three inches of show is expected north of Williston today, but because of the wind, north south travel is not suggested for high profile vehicles.
“Really the main story will be the winds that will pick up later Tuesday afternoon. For the Williston area we are expected maybe sustained winds at 30 miles per hour, with higher winds to the south and west,” says Jones.
During inclement weather, high-profile, long-load type, and permitted overdimensional vehicles have restricted travel. North Dakota law restricts movement for these vehicles when wind or other conditions may cause the vehicle or attachment to swerve, whip, sway, or fail to follow in the path of the towing vehicle.
