Williston, ND (KEYZ) Austin Cerkony, Colton Sorenson and Frank Roice (booking photo from left to right) are in custody at the williams county jail. According to Williston Police the trio ran a lucrative copper wire theft ring who’s latest victims included The Black Gold company and Grand Majestic Lodge.
Interestingly enough, employees became suspicious when all they had to do was notice the deep drag marks stretching from the Lodge’s door all the way to Gibb’s Towing, which bordered the property, that’s where Detective Dan Dery says the wire was stored until it could be fenced.
Documents say much of the copper and other steel items were sold to Pacific Steel. All in all only 1000 dollars in wire was stolen, but that doesn’t account for the near 149 thousand dollars in property damaged while the trio extracted the wire. They are charged with Conspiracy to commit theft, and criminal mischief.
